* That is not the only news at BC this week. The Men’s Hockey team will face Miami (Ohio – not “The U”) with a trip to the Frozen Four Finals on the line tonight. This is actually a rematch of last year’s title game. The puck will drop at approximately 8:30 PM, following the other semi-final match between the University of Wisconsin and RIT starting at 5PM. The winners will meet for the championship Saturday night at 7 PM. This year’s Frozen Four is all taking place at Ford Field in Detroit.
* The Red Sox dropped their first 2 out of 3 games at home to the defending champion New York Yankees. Great way to start. David Ortiz has already flipped his lid at the media. I understand he is frustrated, and yes, it is only a few games so this season. But David, they are talking about most of last season as well. Looks like things really do change for players after failing drug tests for PED’s. And if you don’t like all the attention and scrutiny – ask to be traded to Kansas City or Pittsburgh. Guarantee you that there will be no media issues out there. This is Boston – when things are going well, then they fall all over you. But when they are bad, well, you know…
* The Celtics are tied for the third spot in the Eastern Conference with the Atlanta Hawks with only four games remaining. They are a lock to begin the postseason at home, but it is a matter of who they will face, especially in the second round if they are fortunate enough to advance. Finish in the 3 spot and adavance, and you’ll take on Orlando. Finish fourth and move on, and you get a date with Cleveland. Neither is ideal.
* Not too much going on with the Patriots. Very few free agent signings as they prepare for the NFL Draft in two weeks. With four picks in the first two rounds, it is expected that the Pats will focus on defense, most notably up front at linebacker and d-line. They have a few other glaring holes, but need to get stronger up front of this page
